Adoption is important to us in many ways, mainly because Megan’s dad and his sister (Megan’s aunt) were adopted as young children in the 1960s. Their adoptive parents (Megan’s late grandparents) could not have kids due to a severe weather event that had injured her. She was an amazing woman who she learned a lot from before her passing, she had such a sweet and gentle nature which you could see in her kids and grandkids.
Before Andrew and Megan married, they discussed their plans, and it included adopting before knowing if they could or could not have kids. The love for children and making sure there was a child or children out there that they could give a positive upbringing and a stable home with love.
Before starting this process, they tried to have children naturally and through a fertility program but were unsuccessful. They did not want to try IVF because they knew there were children in this country that needed a loving home and adoption meant more to them then trying all the medical ways possible.
After seeking advice and answers to questions about adoption in all its forms, they started seeking out for a child who needs a loving home, family, and community. We have also been blessed to be really involved with a school district who has a lot of adoption stories and families in our school who give out so much time and love for those families.
“Three things last FOREVER. Faith, Hope, and Love. But the greatest of these is LOVE. -Psalms13:13”
